About
Our School
Glenrowan is the hub school and Winton PS is our annexe school. Both schools are located between Benalla and Wangaratta in the rural North East region of Victoria.
Winton PS is a fantastic place to work because of the positive, supportive environment created by the staff, students and parents. Our motto “ Caring for our community’s future” is very much the direction we follow evidenced by the strong partnerships between school, parents and the wider community to provide our children with the very best opportunities. The strong home – school partnerships are a feature of our schools and this relationship contributes to the high level of student achievement and ensures the provision of a quality educational program for our children. Due to the size of both Winton and Glenrowan schools they offer a setting which is often described as a “family atmosphere”.
I strongly believe that a child’s experience in primary school should be enjoyable and fun. I’m a great advocate for teachers building positive, genuine relationships with the students across the school. Staff are passionate, enthusiastic and focussed on learning. They care for each student and understand the individual’s needs both emotionally and academically.
In addition to our original school house / administration area we also have a newly relocated building where our two classes have ample space to operate. Playgrounds, covered court area, sports oval, an extensive vegie patch and bushland environment complete the Winton school grounds.
Our Values
At Winton Primary School we use the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support framework to develop a positive, safe and supportive learning environment for all children. Using our core values we taylor make social and emotional instruction and activity to best support our students and school.
